A pilgrim is found dead on the Camino de Santiago by heatstroke

The incident, starring an elderly English pilgrim, has taken place in the Seville town of Almaden de la Plata

Several pilgrims found last Sunday, around 2.00 pm, a pilgrim in poor health in the Sierra Norte de Sevilla, as they walked the Camino de Santiago between the towns of Castiblanco de los Arroyos and Almaden de la Plata, stage part of the Via de la Plata way. Upon arrival emergency health services and Civil Guard, they could only confirm the death of the pilgrim.

It was an Englishman of 70 who have died, as confirmed by autopsy, by heatstroke. The pilgrim, who passed the previous night in Castilblanco de los Arroyos, had no food or water for hydration at the time to be found. The indicente has taken place on a weekend with high temperatures orange alert in the Guadalquivir Valley, where this Monday is taking place one of the hottest days of the summer, with temperatures exceeding 42 °.
