Students Podiatry, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy cater to pilgrims in Ponferrada

Ponferrada becomes the third city of Leon to sign an agreement with the University Miguel Hernández (UMH) for students of the training center, located in Elche, help with chores to attend to the thousands of pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago expected passing through the town this summer. Students Podiatry, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy, attend to those who need it in some hostels in the town.

Previously they had already signed the Astorga and Villadangos del Páramo agreement.This agreement has been made official recently with the signatures of the Vice President for Institutional Relations of the UMH, María Teresa Pérez Vázquez, and the mayor of Ponferrada, Gloria Fernandez Merayo. Through this collaboration, very beneficial for pilgrims, the students will develop research projects and term papers grade. UMH will select students assume transport them and pay 50% of their support, in addition to providing teachers who supervise the work of students and the necessary medical supplies.
