The Spanish provinces where the Camino de Santiago is taking place are already starting to prepare for the upcoming Holy Year Xacobeo, although there are still some more than 4 years to celebrate, and for that they are beginning to take action measures. The last to do so is Leon, who through his deputation has presented a diagnostic study at the biennial fair of Restoration and Heritage Management on the Jacobean Route for possible measures in the field of security that could lead to adequate signaling and / or repair the tracks.

The president of the County Council of Leon, Juan Martinez Majo, stressed that the intention of the authorities is that the layout of the Camino de Santiago in the province is in the best conditions possible for the next Xacobeo 2021, for what has been working several months in this study. Majo has revealed that the most detailed conclusions of the studies - in which Associations of the Camino de Santiago have taken part, as well as technicians - will be known very soon and has encouraged other provincial councils to carry out diagnostic studies to know among all the current state of the whole route.
