Although yesterday was already controlled, a fire has devastated between 50 and 60 hectares in the region of El Bierzo, between the hamlet of El Acebo and the Cruz de Ferro, after the low hills spent a day burning, In spite of being in winter, station with few fires. The calcined zone limits with the Camino de Santiago, in the mountains of the municipality of Molinaseca, but for this time, with the low temperatures, few pilgrims who venture through this area of ​​El Bierzo. According to the mayor of the town, Alfonso Arias, everything indicates that the fire has been provoked.

The spreading of the fire, which has even withstood the low temperatures of the night of last Monday, has contributed the low precipitations of these last months, nevertheless the service of extinguishment of fires of Junta de Castilla y León has managed to control it in the Afternoon of this Tuesday, thanks to the work of a helicopter, a forest crew and a bulldozer.
