Pedro Antonio Peña - RAMÓN LEIRO

Pedro Antonio Peña, this veteran of the Camino de Santiago, was recently Way Live chat with different issues related to the Jacobean routes. Our last questions with Pedro Antonio focused on the impact that the road can have on a person, and that this expert advice walker could offer young people or those who had not lived this experience.

Many make small pilgrimage route to spend a relaxing day or to accompany a friend, without intending to make a big route. However, this can be an input method and the best way to know the Way, "which makes the Way is hooked, that's clear ... Maybe that's the way snagging". However, once they are known the Way, play become more ambitious targets:

Once they are hooked, then engaged in making roads less crowded, more solitary. The Portuguese it was at first; now no, it's almost that more people have ... For example, the English Way. It is a road that is not very long and to start might be fine, with little time to complete. Who has more time to do other things. - Pedro Antonio Peña

Although Pedro Antonio confessed in previous interviews that, on occasion, decided to make the road completely alone, this experienced hiker recommended for prospective pilgrims who never make the routes alone, since even the experience will be much better if accompanied by family or good friends, besides being safer:

I recommend, however, not be totally alone, unless one likes ... Not for nothing, but because to go two or three best organized gang, the experience of the Way more lives. And more if all are new, or only if one knows something but does not make a leader, because you have to let the people will shake itself. It would not be in favor, now it's all organized with guides that bring and take you backpack, to do so. For work and job creation that's fine, but for the Way ... - Pedro Antonio Peña

Yes, but does not reject the new technologies, Pedro Antonio is among those who recommended the road without too many electronic aids, to experience "as it was 400 or 500 years ago, or just 50 years":

Today these developments have been imposed, it seems correct. Technology and advances are very good, and my until I drove home not to carry a mobile, do not carry a mobile. All I wear a pacemaker, a pacemaker that I have fully calibrated (laughter) - Pedro Antonio Peña

Pedro Antonio no goal is scored, but says he still has far to go.. "I would like to reach 60, at least 3 more I would like to get them three times to Santiago, and ask no more now, if I came, at 61 ... and if I arrive, at 62 ... ". It seems that this pilgrim veteran is here to stay, and you can not stop doing what he likes and has become a hobby:

"While I can walk, keep walking," he says. Live from the Road want to thank Pedro Antonio Peña time spent in our interview and wish you luck on your next adventure; the next, from Salamanca to Santiago in September, featured on this social network.
