Portomarín is already Gallego Tourist Municipality thanks to the Camino de Santiago

The town and municipality of Portomarín has finally achieved cataloging, by the Xunta, Galician Tourist Municipality, which should affect more attractive for visitors and, of course, greater promotion in the official media. The reasons for which the administration granted this cataloging are the attractions of municipalities and, in the case of Portomarín, in this regard approves with flying colors.

Only 47 Galician municipalities, 13 of them in the province of Lugo, have officially achieved this cataloging by the Xunta indefinite, although administration may revoke this recognition at any time if the affected municipalities fail to meet some of the requirements for which they were approved.In the case of Portomarín, it has been an essential part of the decision the Camino de Santiago, assuming the biggest attraction of the town and by far the claim that attracts more tourists a year. As for monuments, Portomarín has the Church of St. Nicholas. Since the administration of Portomarín are very satisfied with the decision, they consider "deserved for all the people." This documentation will be useful not only to attract visitors, will also facilitate grant applications to different administrations.
