The Primitive way - MANUEL

It seems that in terms of the improvements and rehabilitation work everything related to the Camino de Santiago, no question or criticism in improving buildings or signaling and comfort of certain routes, but when to change the course we in an eternal debate about its preserve the original charm or make the route more accessible.

The debate has reopened the last hours due to criticism from residents and pilgrims Camino Primitivo, works currently being carried out in the top of O Acebo, between the border of Asturias and Lugo. The problem is basic. This famous route and growing in popularity is one year as a World Heritage Site, however, the primitive essence of it is lost to the rehabilitation that is running the regional government in some sections.

Small bumpy trails, rocks and puddles, now become flattened wide roads, completely changing experience. The Primitive Way loses its essence and becomes a route. Many pilgrims recognize that walking through these areas is more comfortable, but loses the charm. The president of the Association Amigos do Camiño Primitivo, José Manuel Saavedra, recently wanted to offer his views on the eternal debate: "lose the charm and sense of Way." More critical the president of the Association of Friends do Castroverde Heritage, Manuel Muniz showed: "So, we spoil all the historical route, this is not primitive nor anything".
