With this new regulation of the Xunta de Galicia, only the street vending will be allowed in authorized events, like fairs or public events
Street vending has the days counted in the set of the Camino de Santiago, with the exception of the urban stretches; this is the new regulation that the Galician government will push through the Law on Fiscal and Administrative Measures, also known as law to accompany the draft budgets of the Xunta for 2018. The Xunta has arranged this new regulation, says "for reasons of protection of the cultural heritage "in the field of the Camino de Santiago.
The text of the new regulations, however, takes as an exception the street vending in the field of authorized events, such as markets, fairs, parties or popular events. Everything indicates that this rule comes to control the massification of vendors of this type on routes so chosen by the pilgrims as the French Way, thus responding to the concern of several Galician consistories (some municipalities had previously regulated the street vending, banning it).
