A group of six prisoners from the prison of Segovia arrived in Santiago de Compostela during yesterday after completing a route that has kept them free for seven days. Pilgrimage from O Cebreiro, the experience seems to have been extremely positive for this group of prisoners between 22 and 40 years, "the best thing was to feel that they trust me, forcing me not to disappoint them," assured Juan Sebastian Corrales Gallego .

All prisoners who have enjoyed this experience of pilgrimage and somehow "penance" serving sentences and have drug-related problems. However, penance is not, in any case, the objective, according to Jesus Hernandez, one of the teachers who accompany them. The aim is to implement "skills learned in therapy performed in prison, and verify that you can apply them to real life".

The Way of these prisoners has two additional functions as educators: moving towards normalizing the lives of these prisoners and, moreover, that society will see that it is possible reintegration. In addition to touring the Way itself, Segovia prison prepared talks on its artistic heritage, and today the prisoners will make a tour of the historic center of Santiago with the architect José Allegue.
