25 Jornadas Jacobeas: a cycle of dissemination on history, culture and spirituality on the Camino de Santiago

The social work of Ibercaja and the Association of Friends of the Camino de Santiago of Zaragoza open this cycle of conferences this Wednesday in the Aragonese city

The Ibercaja Patio de la Infanta, a beautiful Aragonese Renaissance courtyard of the sixteenth century, hosts from Wednesday 23 the conference cycle 25 Jornadas Jacobeas, organized by the Obra Social of Ibercaja and the Association of Friends of the Camino of Santiago de Zaragoza. The cycle of conferences, with an informative vocation, will deepen in the history, culture and spirituality of the Way of Santiago and will begin this Wednesday with 'Philosophy and mystique of the universal pilgrimage: the Jacobite myth', a talk given by the architect Jaime Buhigas, which will explain why the Camino de Santiago is the highest exponent of the pilgrimage.

The Camino de Santiago and its historical development will be the second talk, to be held on Thursday 24, guided by María Angeles Fernandez, president of the Spanish Federation of Friends of the Camino de Santiago. The doctor will talk about the discovery of the tomb of the Apostle Santiago in the s. IX and how it gave rise to the Jacobean pilgrimages. Finally, the round of talks will be closed with the celebration of the round table Four visions of the Camino de Santiago from Aragon, with the participation of prominent members of the Association of the Camino de Santiago de Zaragoza, preceding the act of delivery of the International Pentafinium Prize Jacobeo 2013-2016.
