Plan Xacobeo has signed in 2016 agreements with more than 20 associations of the Way of Santiago to reach all corners of the world
The Xacobeo Management Plan Corporation or simply Plan Xacobeo is the agency in charge of managing the entire public hostel network of the Camino de Santiago, its patrimony and not least, of coordinating all actions related to the Route Jacobea, where also the promotion of the Jacobean culture enters the world. Precisely to this end, the company dependent on Tourism in Galicia signed in 2016 more than 20 international agreements with different associations of the Way of St. James spread across five continents, as announced a few days ago.
The celebration of colloquia, exhibitions or editions of magazines and material by these associations is directly related to this collaboration with Plan Xacobeo. According to the society, there are more than 300 groups worldwide with cases such as American Pilgrims on the Camino, which has up to 34 delegations spread across the different states of the country. The objective of Turism of Galicia and Plan Xacobeo is to promote "all activities aimed at disseminating and studying aspects related to the Camino de Santiago and the Xacobeo phenomenon", a task that becomes more important if it is possible in this period of transition between two years Jacobeos, given the very high expectations of pilgrimages planned for the next, in 2021.
