Renfe starts up the Pilgrim's Train

If you do the Jacobean route with the Pilgrim Train at journey's end you will get a facsimile certificate issued by the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela

RENFE will offer a new opportunity and experience of walking the Camino de Santiago, in a very different way from the usual, by train. RENFE has launched an initiative on its website called "Pilgrim Train", which will be part of its tourist trains during the summer.

"Walk the Camino in a different way, departing from Madrid aboard a comfortable hotel train" says RENFE on its website.On a tour that will last 5 days and 4 nights, the "pilgrims" will cross Madrid, Astorga, Ponferrada, Monforte, Santiago, and finally, return to Madrid. There are currently four departures provided por the Pilgrim Train: 28 July, 4 August, 11 August an 18 August.

Every day train travelers may make the corresponding stage on foot or by bicycle, or visit the city. Every afternoon, passengers can enjoy guided tours and other activities. A bicycle per person is allowed up to 10 bicycles per train booking. You can find more details on RENFE's website.
