Zamora will invest 15,000 euros to improve signaling in Camino de Santiago

The Asociación Zamorana de los Caminos de Santiago will start performing a series of talks to promote the Jacobean route in Sanabria

Zamora City Council with the collaboration and support of the members of the Association of the Camino de Santiago from Zamora, has confirmed that 15,000 euros will be invested to improve signage in the Jacobean routes around the city.

This first step could be just the beginning, because the council is awaiting acceptance of a project by the Counseling of Tourism of the Junta de Castilla y León, with which it could expand investment by of the regional administration, to 60,000 euros.

The Camino de Santiago is still very important for Zamora tourism, why the city wants to strengthen and improve the Jacobean routes. So far this year, the pilgrim hostel of the capital, run by volunteers, has recorded no less than 2,000 walkers. For its part, the Association of the Camino de Santiago from Zamora begin conducting a series of talks to promote the pilgrimage route by Sanabria, starting on August 18 in the Ethnographic Museum and imparted by Julio Samuel Badenes.

The rest of talks will be held on 8 September, 22 September and 13 October, all in the Public Library.
