Leon subsidizes small municipalities to improve the Camino de Santiago

The works must follow the guidelines of the Regional Territorial Plan Camino de Santiago, demanding that improvements are respectful of the environment

Good news for some small municipalities through which runs the Camino de Santiago. The Diputación de León has confirmed that subsidize up to 6,000 euros to municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants elapses by any route of the road, with the aim of they can make small improvements in them.

Obviously these 6,000 euros will not be allowed to perform major works, but will allow for small changes and improvements to the Camino de Santiago. The grants are intended for, for example, place more bins outside urban areas, the earthworks and clearing routes, repairing irrigation ditches and manholes, or planting trees.he works must follow the guidelines of the Regional Territorial Plan Camino de Santiago, demanding that improvements are respectful of the environment.

Applications for the municipalities must be accompanied by a detailed report on the work to be done.
