The introspective documentary of Aaron C. Leaman tells us how the Camino de Santiago has changed the way of seeing life for many pilgrims
In our hands these days has reached the film debut of director Aaron C. Leaman, from his experience in the Camino de Santiago in 2014, officially launched last August and already we have seen in its entirety. The introspective documentary of about an hour 'Looking for Infinity: The Camino' presents a travel camera in hand by the Jacobean route while dissects the first-person experiences of a group of pilgrims on whose life the Camino has been a before and after.
Leaman's work is distinguished from some other documentaries on the Camino de Santiago more focused on portraying their natural landscapes, places, habits or exercise simply travel diary, to focus fully on the spiritual influence of the trip in people. Especially in a Western civilization like ours in which we live continually gripped by fears and see us outside of our comfort zone victims of what we can not control, the documentary tells us through the voice of many pilgrims (enough number of testimonies) how the Camino has the power to lift us above the trees to get to see the forest.
'Looking for Infinity: The Camino' deserves a viewing for those who find their life at a crossroads, in those moments when everything we thought we knew about life, our relationships and our values falters and seek an experience revealing. Also they fwill ind it interesting those pilgrims who are already familiar with the Camino above and surely empathize with the experiences are recounted in the documentary, many of them in English (although many statements of the pilgrims are in perfect Spanish).
