The tragedy returns to the Camino. Yesterday, Wednesday, April 27, a Finnish pilgrim who was doing the Portuguese Way has died after being hit in the border town of Valenca do Miño.

The man, 73-year-old, was hit by a vehicle at 16:20 hours yesterday afternoon in a crosswalk. Despite the place where the event occurred, the Finnish pilgrim allegedly crossed the street with the red light, so everything points to a dismissal of the victim.

"The tragedy was due to an alleged dismissal of the victim, who crossed the line with a red light for pedestrians while his partners were on the sidewalk," said Mayor Jorge Salgueiro Montes.

After the accident the pilgrim was taken to a hospital in Braga, where he died at dawn. Along the same group of pilgrims was traveling another man who is now in the hospital with the legs broken because of an accident it happened three days before the fatal incident registered yesterday.
