This small village, situated at 900 meters above sea level, is one of the main milestones on the Silver route in Galicia.
Its own name gives evidence to its link with the Camino of Santiago, given that it was founded in the XII century to provide shelter to pilgrims.
This area was converted from a desert like location into a prosperous place, nowadays, however, it is almost completely uninhabited and it is the pilgrims that keep it running on a daily basis. It has one of the bars with the most character on the whole route, namely the bar Rincón del peregrino.
If you are traveling on the Camino de Santiago or are planning to do so soon, you should know that the distance separating Alberguería from Santiago de Compostela is 140 kilometers.
To live the Camino you must be registered and/or logged. Take the first step and start your story!
