Puerto viejo de Bermeo

In the Basque Country we find the town of Bermeo, a coastal town that stands out for being one of the main fishing ports in ancient times. In it we can find different typical elements of the marine world, in addition to several important points of this town as the Church of Santa Eufemia and the old town of Bermeo.

Located on the Cantabrian coast, this town receives every year thousands of tourists who come to enjoy the waters of this beautiful sea and the historic port of Bermeo. Here you can enjoy spectacular views and typical of the coastal towns of the north of the peninsula, as well as the typical gastronomy of the place.

In addition to the views, the old port of Bermeo offers a great variety of sculptures of great value. On one side is "The Wave" sculpture by Nestor Basterretxea in tribute to the people of this town, while on the other is "The last wave, the last breath" by Enrike Zubia.

Although the pilgrims coming from the Camino del Norte never set foot in Bermeo, there are many who decide to return to enjoy this town and its old port. This point of great historical importance is located very close to Gernika-Lumo and near the city of Bilbao, one of the main cities on the Northern Way.
