A cruise with stunning views

The cruises, or cruceiros, are one of the most common religious monuments in Galicia. It is estimated that in the community there are a whopping more than 12,000 cruise ships. Among all these monuments made of stone and its characteristic cross, the Cruceiro de Armada in Cee is one of the most popular.

The Cruceiro de Armada is located in a privileged place. Close to the parish of Santa María de la Xunqueira and one of the first points from which pilgrims can see the sea. Although it has suffered damage over the years, it was completely repaired during the 20th century.

The Armada cruiser is one of the most interesting. It has a Virgin on the back, and a Christ on the front. Not only that, but also on the shaft (middle part of the transept) it presents an eroded figure; Being able to find sections a little further down that could belong to a Roman altar.

The name of the monument is due to the small hill on which it stands. One of the most iconic features of this cruise ship is precisely its location. From the monument we can see impressive views of the entire Cee estuary.
