La Jacetania invests in environmental conservation of the Camino de Santiago

The region gets a grant to hire a team for the conservation and maintenance of the Jacobean Route

The Camino de Santiago and conservation of the environment are two conceptor should always go hand in hand, and fortunately it seems that so understand some of our authorities, such as the region of La Jacetania, in Aragon, thanks to a grant they will also get to employ various unemployed. With an endowment of SEPE-Corporations Local program achieved by the Employment and Development of this region it is to launch a project for specific conservation and maintenance actions of the route of the Camino de Santiago that runs through this region.

The region has taken the grant of more than 14,000 euros to hire three experts currently unemployed for forestry work that will focus on facilitating the pilgrims transiting the area and make it safer. Pawns are responsible for up to five interventions maintenance and improvement of the areas through which runs the road and have been damaged, like a bridge over a channel, which due to the accumulation of plant debris causes the water exceeds the channel, making it impassable for pilgrims. Interventions have been decided in coordination with the Provincial Service of Huesca, Section Culture and Heritage of the Government of Aragon.
