Pilgrims staying in the public albergue have the nearby option of eating at the café Paso a Nivel or in the bakery Paso a Nivel situated next to the railway line that passes through O Porriño.
A good option for this time of day is to try the typical bread of O Porriño, with a hard crust and a soft doughy middle. This bread keeps well for a number of days. There are also many cafes situated close to the Town Hall. At the entrance of the Camino, if entered via the street of Manuel Rodriguez in the direction of the centre, walkers will find the tapas bar A Taberna, they offer special prices and a pilgrim menu priced at 6 euros. Honey is another typical product of this area.
