If the Ribeira Sacra were not a jewel of nature by itself, it also has several hidden places worthy of admiration. In the area of the Miño river, more specifically flowing into one of its banks, we find one of these places: the Augacaída waterfall.

The waterfall or fervenza of Augacaída is one of the most iconic places of the Ribeira Sacra. It is a 40-meter high waterfall coming from the Aguianza stream, which thousands of people visit every year.

Although the waterfall is the most striking feature of this place, the route to get there also offers a unique panoramic view. The Augacaída - Castro de Marce hiking route is 2.42 kilometers long and allows you to see the remains of the castro that once stood there and then descend to see the waterfall.

Although the Camino de Santiago is one of the main attractions within the Galician community, the Ribeira Sacra attracts more and more tourists from all over the world. The natural attraction is the key factor for this to happen, however places like the Augacaída waterfall or the river beach of A Cova also help to do so.
