This Friday 14th from 17 to 21 hours, the pilgrim hostel of Zamora lives a private open house for all zamoranos and who wants to come can see first hand the work of care for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago lends. In addition to access to hostel facilities, it has scheduled a reading of stories related to the Camino, without neglecting the disclosure of the role of hospital volunteers, who are responsible for caring for pilgrims throughout the year.

Since 2012 the Federation of Friends of the Camino de Santiago is responsible for managing this hostel 36 seats, owned by the municipality of localiadad and situated in the beautiful historical center of Zamora, which spend more than 3,000 pilgrims every year . The hostel is open all year thanks to the selfless contribution of hospital care providers and their price, like many other public shelters is set at the will of the pilgrim.

Zamora is a crossroads of great importance in the ways of santiago, because in Castilla town is where converge the Via de la Plata and the Camino Mozárabe or Sanabrés, many pilgrims arriving from the south (Andalusia and Extremadura) elected in instead of continuing to Astorga. Thus, along the Via de la Plata and linking with Sanabrés can go directly to Santiago de Compostela without having to join the French Way (very busy in summer).
