The president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alberto Nunez Feijoo delivered this Tuesday to the spanish national team coach Vicente Del Bosque a title that distinguishes him as a lifetime ambassador of the Camino de Santiago. The coach, recently retired, has received  the title in Santiago de Compostela, in a ceremony with sports personalities and politics, a distinction created in 2013 and given only until now to the president of the caretaker government, Mariano Rajoy, and the king Felipe VI.

According to Nunez-Feijoo, Del Bosque, like the Camino de Santiago, meets a "set of values" with which people identify, and that the purpose of the title is that the ex manager spread from now as ambassador of the Jacobean Route. Nunez-Feijoo has also highlighted the merit of the Spanish team that Del Bosque coached, getting reach the highest transmitting values like teamwork and know how to lose, besides winning, recalling that "there are many ways to unite a country, and football is one of them. "

The president of the Xunta explained that "the Camino de Santiago joins Spain, because it covers all the Autonomous Communities", which is necessary, he says, "because we are concerned that unites the diverse Spain, regardless of where we were born" making an analogy with the role of the Spanish team as a link in society in recent years.

Del Bosque, in his speech, wanted to distance himself from the praise, playing the recognition more "to the Spanish football" that individually towards him, noting that in his role just tried to best represent their country "in and outside the locker room." The ex manager will participate this afternoon at 20.00 in a speech to close the conference cycle organized at the Hostal Reyes Catolicos by Turismo de Galicia, addressing the issue of "solidarity as a key to the team win."
