The region of Navarre is one of the territories most closely linked to the Camino de Santiago, as there is Roncesvalles, the starting point of the French Way and like this there are many other magical places that no pilgrim should miss. This is the case of the Source of Urederra
The Source of the Urederra is the natural outlet of the Urbasa aquifer, which consists of impressive waterfalls with a drop of over a hundred meters give life to the river Urederra. Over the centuries the riverbed, with its turquoise-blue waters, has shaped the southern edge of Urbasa, forming an impressive rocky amphitheatre.
The area around the source has been declared a Nature Reserve and Natural Park. Here we can find numerous species of trees such as beeches, oaks and maples, as well as animals such as vultures and red kites.
Access to this Reserve is limited to 500 people per day, due to the fact that it is an extremely fragile ecosystem. To visit the Source it is necessary to make a reservation through its website, selecting the day and time of the visit. It will also be necessary to pay a parking fee, which varies depending on the vehicle, in the case of a car it is 5 euros.
There are also many accommodation and restaurant services in the area surrounding the park.
To live the Camino you must be registered and/or logged. Take the first step and start your story!
