Making the Camino del Norte you will find the fishing village of Cudillero. With an approximate distance of 107 kilometers and 6,650, this town has earned the title of being one of the most beautiful towns in Spain, due to the large number of unique landscapes it offers.
Cudillero is a town of great charm that is located on the coast of Asturias. It has a relevant fishing port that during the summer months becomes a tourist attraction. Even different media have mentioned this town as one of the most beautiful in Spain, with an extension of approximately 107 kilometers and around 6,650 inhabitants.
In Cudillero you can enjoy a unique landscape with beaches, green valleys, rivers, waterfalls, cliffs and mountains. In the town three cultures are mixed, the mariñana, made up of fishermen and farmers, the xalda, by inhabitants of the interior valleys and finally, the vaqueira, by shepherds who are located in the upper parts of the mountains.
In the fishing town of Cudillero, declared a Historic Artistic Complex, houses of different colors are located in the mountains. In addition, you can enjoy the beautiful heritage it has, here we leave you a series of suggestions of everything you can see.
The festivals of San Pedro, San Pablo and San Pablín, are known as a whole as Fiestas de San Pedro. On Saint Peter's Day the L’Amuravela is celebrated, where a sailor gets on a boat in the Ribera to recite a sermon with a pixelated dialect. During the proclamation, it is sung in honor of Saint Peter, among other activities. This well-known holiday has its origin in the 16th century. Finally, on the feast day of Saint Pablin, a seafaring procession takes place.
Cudillero can be accessed by train, bus or road. In feve or alsa you will find combinations to travel to the town by train or bus, from Avilés, Gijón and Oviedo, the main cities of Asturias. Cudillero train station is located 2km from the town center. If you prefer to travel by bus, there is no station, but there is a stop at C / Juan Antonio Bravo. If you prefer the journey by road, it can be accessed from the A-8 to Cudillero.
Carrying out the Camino del Norte, specifically in stage 22 - Stage Avilés to Soto de Luiña, you will arrive at Cudillero. Once there, you will discover a route full of vegetation, mountains and sea.
