The best films based on the Camino de Santiago

In the same way that historical events, action or science fiction genres have always been inspiration for the film, the Camino de Santiago is not far behind. Even if you do not believe, the Jacobean Route has to his credit with a lot of movies on the road.

The WayThe Way - 2010

The Way is possibly the Hollywood adaptation more welcome in the American country. Well, it is not that the film had a great impact, but managed to bite the bug many US residents to walk the Camino de Santiago. The film tells the story of Tom Avery - Martin Sheen - renowned ophthalmologist receiving the sad news of the death of her son Daniel in the Pyrenees. In order to move to the place to prepare the funeral, Tom discovers that Daniel was performing the Camino de Santiago, but unfortunately it did not pass the first stage. As estaréis imagining, Avery decides to complete the route that her late son could not.

Three on the Road - 2004

During His Nearly two and a half hours, Three on the Road portrays is part of the exceptional essence of the Jacobean Route: travel, experience and spiritual burden That is reliable to leave on people. With a dramatic backdrop in which three brothers learn of the death of his mother, both decide to make the Camino de Santiago. The reason? That is the only way to get the family inheritance. What at first may seem attractive, not at all is the case of its protagonists, because the peculiar triumvirate does not take anything right between them; adding that none of them like to walk. Along with six other people, the brothers discover new experiences and of course, find themselves.

American - 2005

What at first was going to be a peaceful and quiet trip to Europe for Chris McKinley, ended up becoming an experience that would change completely. American is the staging of two of the most important events in our country, the San Fermines and Camino de Santiago. Chris will encounter filled with the feast of Pamplona, where he meets the beautiful Adela. This will not end his tour of Spain, because this American fall surrendered to the charm of the Jacobean Route. A film that, although it is not all bad, thanks to its romantic touches and comedy, make us spend time entertaining.
