Melide, the first relevant population in the province of A Coruña, is well equipped with services and eating establishments. For example, several places open early in the day to provide breakfast to pilgrims. One of them, located less than 300 meters from the entrance is the chocolatiers O Burato (situated below the Guesthouse Berenguela), it opens all year round from 06.00 hours. In the historic centre other recommended places for breakfast are, for example, the cafeteria Stop, serving from 06.00 hours in summer, the bar Canton and Casa Quinzán (also recommended for lunch), both are located close to the Plaza del Convento.

Next to public albergue there is also the Guesthouse Pousada Chiquitín.   In melide visitors can try the best octopus (strangely, always best eaten away from the coast). For this, the Pulperia A Grenache is a good option with good service and reasonable prices. Very close by, but on Avenida de Lugo, Pulpería Ezequiel is located.

On the street Ronda de Pontevedra another recommended place for octopus is Pulpeira Curros, its other dishes are also exceptional.In the evening Melide also offers a wide range of options, making it a good meeting place for hundreds of people. In the historical centre, at the crossroads of the streets Alberto Lafuente, As Ichoas and Praza de Herba visitors will encounter an area full of popular wine bars and, other bars can be found in the area of (Rúa Galicia and calle Pardo Bazán) there are also night clubs to meet the various expectations of travellers.
