New hostel for pilgrims in Ourense for next year

During yesterday the regional government and the city of Ourense signed the agreement by which the pilgrims arriving to the famous Galician city may have from next year a new accommodation option. After the signing, the building located at Rua Barreira 12 has been given to start work on the new shelter as soon as possible, with the objective and the commitment that the adaptation works will be completed in 2017.

The enclave is located in the historic center of the city, so the work is expected to be beneficial to merchants in the area. Construction or, rather, adaptation of the building as a shelter, will cost about 800,000 euros. It is a work of importance, where walkers could enjoy the Jacobean routes 50 seats, showers, toilets, laundry and, of course, a store to leave their backpacks and other belongings.

Responsible for the council ensured that a hostel these features was needed for a city that qualify as "spa capital", in addition to increasing influx of tourists in the historic center and refurbish a historic building.
