Again the Council of Orense wants to promote this path, calling to work together to fifteen municipalities.

20 years ago the Council of Orense and the Deputation launched an initiative to form a working group composed of fifteen municipalities through which passes the so-called Ruta de la Plata, in order to correctly define some criteria of this route of Camino de Santiago.

This project, which was presented in April 1996, had funding as its main drawback. The Department of Culture of Orense urged that the municipalities themselves through which the route passed provide a minimum budget to start working.

The objectives were several, including defining the specific route of this path, retrieve the main monuments in the itinerary and promote municipalities, focusing on its landscape and heritage. We must wait to see if, this time, the measure is in making decisions on the Ruta de la Plata.
