By car, the easiest way to reach Ponferrada is via the A-6, with connections to A Coruña via Madrid. In direction Madrid- A Coruña take the 382 exit in the opposite direction, exit 388.
By bus, the company ALSA offers a daily service between Madrid-Ponferrada. The ticket price is 29.34 euros. Another important connection is with Leon, with several buses daily. The journey takes about an hour and a half and the fare is around 10 euros. Santiago de Compostela, Granada, A Coruna and Oviedo are other cities, which can be reached directly by bus.

From the railway station trains depart daily to all parts of the peninsula. It has connections to Santiago de Compostela, Madrid and Leon and several services daily. Correos offers a delivery backpacks service so you can walk without loads and enjoy the routes and stages. You can also purchase a packaging and shipment of bicycles service. The price is 42,03 euros (VAT included, shipping to mainland Spain). This is available in all offices.
Although the city has several stops at strategic points (bus station, shopping centre, Lazúrtegui square...), the main taxi service is RadioTaxi Ponferrada.
