Ponte Ferreira is a tiny place situated in the council of Palas de Rei and is notable for its roman bridge, with just one arch, which allows hikers to cross the river Ferreira in idyllic surroundings.
There is a beautiful rural tourist house, Casa da Ponte where they also serve breakfast. Visitors will also find the private albergue with 26 spaces called Ponte Ferreira.
They charge 10 euros per night, open all year round and it has a bar. Those who found the 20 kilometres between Lugo and A Retorta too short can continue the Camino to here or can even try to reach the public albergue Hospital das Seixas, five kilometres further ahead situated in the foothills of Serra do Careón, closer to Melide.
If you are traveling on the Camino de Santiago or are planning to do so soon, you should know that the distance separating Ponte Ferreira from Santiago de Compostela is 74 kilometers.
To live the Camino you must be registered and/or logged. Take the first step and start your story!
