This city, a great tourist destination, covers any needs pilgrims may have. To receive information about the first stages of the Camino of Santiago they can go to the Pilgrims Office, located on the rue de la Citadelle, 39 (+33) 0559370509 / caminopa@hotmail.com. Here they can purchase the credential, edited in French.
For information about the French city they can visit the Tourist Office, located at Place Charles de Gaulle, 14 (+33) 0559370357. They also offer a free Internet service. From here they can arrange tours of the Citadel (with departures from the Puerta de Santiago) and the city. For more information write to the Asociación de Amigos del Camino de los Pirineos Atlánticos (The association of friends ofthe Camino) or, consult the website of the Association of Coopération Interregionale Les Chemins de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle. In Saint Jean there are several shops that can be useful for pilgrims.
Two of them are Direction Compostelle! and Boutique du Pelerin, situated in Place Floquet and on rue de la Citadelle 32 respectively. The latter opens at 07.00 hours. They sell all kinds of equipment for pilgrims such as, clothing, guides and Accessories. Direction Compostelle! also offers several computers for visitors to consult the internet.
