Thanks to the new project of "Law of Cultural Heritage of Galicia" recently approved by the Parliament.
The two routes that were not formally recognized as part of the Camino de Santiago, known as "Winter Camino" and "Sea Route of Arousa and River Ulla" will be with the new project "Law of Cultural Heritage of Galicia" recently approved by the Parliament.
This law replaces the 1995 law after being recently approved thanks of the majority vote of the People's Party, because all the opposition rejected the new law which they claimed "constitutes a setback." The new Cultural Heritage of Galicia will unify three existing standards: Cultural Heritage of Galicia (1995), the protection of the Ways of Santiago (1996), and artistic endowment in public works in the Jacobean routes (1991).
The so-called "Winter Camino" links the Bierzo with Compostela through the region of Valdeorras, the valley of Sil and Monforte. The text also recognizes the "Sea Route of Arousa and River Ulla," which can be done by sea-waterway instead of land.
To live the Camino you must be registered and/or logged. Take the first step and start your story!
