The history and development of Vilanova de Lourenzá is very closely linked to the Benedictine monastery of San Salvador. In this location two branches of the Northern Way coincide: the busiest path from Ribadeo and, the practically abandoned route that enters the estuary of Abres, in the direction of Trabada, until reaching the chapel of San Marcos to descend after reaching Lourenzá.
If you are traveling on the Camino de Santiago or are planning to do so soon, you should know that the distance separating Vilanova de Lourenzá from Santiago de Compostela is 167 kilometers.
To live the Camino you must be registered and/or logged. Take the first step and start your story!
