The origins of Villadangos del Páramo can be traced back to the Asturians.
After the Romanization and subsequent abandonment, this enclave became occupied again during the Reconquista. With the arrival of the railway Villandangos grew. The enclave has a great devotion for Santiago the Apostle.
If you are traveling on the Camino de Santiago or are planning to do so soon, you should know that the distance separating Villadangos del Páramo from Santiago de Compostela is 288 kilometers.
