Aviles has one of the main fishing ports in all of Spain, so it is not uncommon to know that there you can taste all kinds of dishes typical of Asturian cuisine. As much as in the historical center of the city or in the most remote areas, we can find restaurants and food houses to taste typical recipes of Asturias and Aviles, such as corns, the pot of cabbage, the sausage of Aviles or frisuelos.
It also emphasizes that in Avilés many gastronomic days are celebrated, being some of the most popular the days of cod in Holy Week and the Celtic tables of the Interceltic Festival of Avilés.
