The Stages of Padrón

Correos offers a delivery backpacks service so you can walk without loads and enjoy the routes and stages. You can also purchase a packaging and shipment of bicycles service. The price is 42,03 euros (VAT included, shipping to mainland Spain). This is available in all offices.

In Padron there are two taxi ranks. One on rúa Real, (+34) 98181295, and, a second on avenida Compostela, (+34) 981811459.   To take luggage during the route of the Portuguese Camino one of the main options is the company Tuitrans, they cover the complete route between Pontelima, in Portugal, to Finisterre and Muxia after passing through Santiago of Compostela. (Susana (+34) 636839675 and Jose Manuel (+34) 646982906 from 8.00 until 22.00 hours).

The price is from 7 euros per backpack and stage, although, this price may be reduced depending on the number of travellers. The company has an office in Tui (Obispo Lago, 5) they transport luggage to the accommodation place of the pilgrim and arrangements can be made the day before or in advance for the entire route. They also have a taxi service for those needing assistance to complete a stage or requiring transport to airports. Tuitrans has its own taxi and offers discounts to other companies on the route.

They also offer bike hire, 20 euros per day and 35 euros for collection in Santiago.   Another option for the transport of backpacks is the company Sinmochila. (600295007 or contacto@sinmochila.es). In this case they cover the six Galician stages and in the case of agencies they also cover the two stages of Portugal. The cost is 7 euros per bag and stage, although this varies depending on the number of travellers (minimum 3 euros for more than 15 backpacks). Luggage is left at the accommodation points, in the case of hotels and public hostels and, in the case of council accommodation can be collected from specified bars or cafes of the area.
