The Stages of Pontedeume

By road, the motorway AP-9 (it joins to the A-6) connects the town to the main cities of Galicia and the rest of the peninsular. Another alternative is the road N-651 to Betanzos, which joins to the national VI, and to Ferrol.  

To travel by bus, the most regular lines are those of Ferrol and A Coruña, with the company Arriva, there is a bus stop in the centre of the town, next to the bridge. From both of these cities there are good services with the company Alsa, which offers transport to Madrid and other main national destinations.  

In Pontedeume the only trains that pass through are those on route to the capital. The journey takes almost eleven hours in total and the minimum price is 60 euros.   The nearest airport is Alvedro (A Coruña), 37 kilometres away. The airport of Lavacolla (Santiago) is situated 85 kilometres in distance.

Correos offers a delivery backpacks service so you can walk without loads and enjoy the routes and stages. You can also purchase a packaging and shipment of bicycles service. The price is 42,03 euros (VAT included, shipping to mainland Spain). This is available in all offices.
