If we talk about the Portuguese Way, Tui is one of the most important points of Galicia. This town in the province of Pontevedra is the starting point for many pilgrims who are going to start their adventure to the Cathedral of Santiago and is home to many historical points that all of them can visit as the Chapel and the Cruceiro de la Misericordia.
The Chapel and Cruceiro de la Misericordia is a set of religious buildings that thousands of tourists visit every year. It is one of the key points of this town as they are located between its historic streets where small roads, tunnels and a large number of stone buildings merge.
The Chapel of Mercy of Tui was built in 1542, when they needed a place to bury the most needy. Since its opening it has undergone several renovations, the most recent being in 1916 and maintaining parts of earlier times.
In spite of its small size, the Chapel of Mercy has in its interior different works of great importance. On one side it has a main altarpiece from the year XVI, while on the other side there is the image of the Dolorosa de Agustín Querol.
