Main connections Logroño can be reached by plane, train, bus or private transport. The main roads are the LO-20, A-12, A-11 and the motorway AP- 68, which connect the capital of La Rioja with Vitoria, Bilbao, Pamplona, ​​San Sebastian, Zaragoza, Soria, Madrid and Barcelona.

By bus

The bus station is located at the junction of the Avenida Pio XII with the calle Belchile (+34 941 235 983). There are daily connections to the main towns in Spain. By Train

The railway station is situated on Avenida de Colón number 83. There are regular services to various Spanish destinations as A Coruña, Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Valencia and Valladolid. For more information see the website of Renfe.

By plane

The airport is located nine miles from the city, in the town of Agoncillo. To reach the airport by car follow the LO-20 and the N-232. There is no public transport to the airport. Despite not being a busy terminal, in terms of air traffic there are regular flights to Madrid. Pamplona Airport has regular connections to Barcelona, León, Madrid, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca and Valencia. More information is available on the Aena website.

Taxis and backpack transport

Correos offers a delivery backpacks service so you can walk without loads and enjoy the routes and stages. You can also purchase a packaging and shipment of bicycles service. The price is 42,03 euros (VAT included, shipping to mainland Spain). This is available in all offices.

Logroño has a number of taxi ranks. The main ones are on Avenue de la Paz, 52-58; on Calle Duquesa de la Victoria, 85; next to the bus station on Avenida Pio XII, 2-4; near the Hospital of San Pedro, on the street calle Piqueras, 98; on El Espolón, in front of the wall Muro de la Mata, 3; in Parque del Semillero, in calle Huesca, 63; in the square plaza de Alférez Provisional, 2, in Fuente de Murrieta; and at the train station, in avenida Colón, 83.

The taxi number is +34 941 505 050. Other taxi companies are; Radio Taxi Rioja SL (+34 941222122) and Uni-taxi (+34 941 505 050).   For the transport of backpacks pilgrims have three options. One is Jacotrans. The contact in La Rioja is: +34 636 099 299. Rates are from 7 euros. The usual procedure for those sleeping in public hostels, and thus unable to reserve a place at their next accommodation until their time of arrival-is to designate a bar or another destination point where they can pick up their luggage.

For those staying in private hostels or hotels, their backpack will be waiting for them at their next accommodation establishment. In both cases walkers should call in advance because the service vehicles with backpacks usually start delivery before 0900 hours. By noon, they are already at their destination. Another company that also covers the entire route is Camino Facil. The procedure is identical to that of Jacotrans. Hikers should call or email the day before to have everything planned. Backpacks and are delivered to their destination by lunchtime.

The rates are from 7 euros although; prices may vary depending on the number of people and the number of stages covered (For cyclists), the price may be higher. Camino by bycicle

Logroño is one of the enclaves with the most resources for cyclists. Along with a large number of shops and repair garages, two sports shops with long opening hours are Decathlon and Sport Forum Logroño, these may be of assistance to more than one cycling pilgrim.
