First of all, one must not fall into the trap of believing that Pedrafita and O Cebreiro are the same place; Pedrafita heads the county council, while O Cebreiro belongs to it and, to its parish Church of Santa Maria do Cebreiro. There are 4.3 kilometres in distance between both locations.
The pilgrimage route passes through O Cebreiro but not through Pedrafita do Cebreiro. With regard to services, O Cebreiro does not have a wide range, beyond the hospitality sector itself. Therefore, all those in need of a bank, ATM, chemist, repair shop or petrol station should go to the nearby town of Pedrafita do Cebreiro. In the enclave there is a tourist office, it opens all year round as this is a major tourist centre (+34) 982 367 025 and the main entry point to Galicia for walkers.
Pilgrims who are starting the Camino in this enclave can buy the credential, either in the basilica of Santa Maria Real do Cebreiro or, in the shop Grial, located in front of the temple, it opens at 07.00 hours. Health centres and physiotherapist.
