The Stages of Ourense

Ourense, as a provincial capital, has good connections and it is easy to find public transport both to arrive and depart from the city.  

By road: there are two main roads that connect the city to the plateau and to the northern peninsular. The AG-53/AP-53 connects Ourense to Santiago of Compostela, while the A-52 connects to the cities of Madrid, Vigo and O Porto.   By bus: The bus station of Ourense is situated on Estrada de Vigo 1, (+34) 988216027.

From the terminal buses depart on a daily basis to national, regional and local destinations. For more information see the website.  

By train: The trains of Avant de Renfe reduce the journey time between Ourense and Santiago to 38 minutes and, in the case of A Coruña to 65 minutes. To this terminal of Ourense- is on rúa Eulogio Gómez Franqueira, phone number (+34) 902320320- trains arrive and depart on a daily basis from Madrid and other capitals of the province.

By plane: Ourense does not have an airport. The nearest airports are those of Vigo-90 kilometres- and Santiago of Compostela-115 kilometres-. Both are situated more or less an hour away by road.

Correos offers a delivery backpacks service so you can walk without loads and enjoy the routes and stages. You can also purchase a packaging and shipment of bicycles service. The price is 42,03 euros (VAT included, shipping to mainland Spain). This is available in all offices.
