Pamplona enjoys excellent connections.
San Sebastian is joined by the AP-15, to Zaragoza on the N-121, to Logroño, the N-111 and Jaca by the N-240. From Madrid, the best option is to take the N-1 to Vitoria, where it connects with the N-240. From Galicia, travel to Vitoria and follow the same road. In France there are four main connections. The N-121 A (Behovia-Pamplona, via the port of Velate), the N-121 B (France-Pamplona, via Batzan), the N-138 (France-Pamplona, by Alduides), or N-135 (France-Pamplona, via Valcarlos). The latter passes very close to the Camino of Santiago.
Daily connections are available to the main regions and cities of Spain. Alicante, Andalucía, Barcelona, Bilbao, Salou and Peñíscola, Gijón, Oviedo, Irán, Jaca, Jaén, Logroño, Madrid, San Sebastian, Santander, Soria, Vigo, Vitoria and Zaragoza. The normal procedure for those sleeping in public hostels-and thus unable to reserve a place at their next destination until their time of arrival-should choose a bar or another destination point where they can collect their luggage. For those staying in private hostels or hotels, their luggage will be waiting for them at the next accommodation point. Walkers should call in advance because in both cases the vehicles usually begin delivery before 0900 hours.
By noon, luggage is already at its destination. Another company that also covers the entire route is Camino Facil. The procedure is identical to that of Jacotrans. Hikers should call or email the day before to have everything planned. Backpacks and are delivered to their destination by lunchtime. The rates are from 7 euros although, prices may vary depending on the number of people and the number of stages covered (for cyclists), the price may be higher.
