The Stages of Pontevedra

As part of the Atlantic axis, Pontevedra has good travel connections both to the south through Vigo and, to the north, in the direction of Santiago of Compostela and A Coruña.

By road this route can be done via the AP-9 motorway, (a toll applies), or along the N-554 national road. By sea Pontevedra is connected by the port of Marín, situated a few kilometres from the urban centre. The closest airports are Vigo, 30 kilometres away, or Santiago 60 kilometres away.

There are train station stops with a variety of connections both in the direction of Vigo and towards Vilagarcía de Arousa, it is possible to consult timetables on the website of Renfe.

By bus Pontevedra is connected to the main cities of Galicia via the company Monbus. There are also services with the company García Castro, (+34) 986843266 and Núñez Barros, the company responsible for the route between the municipalities from Arousa and Pontevedra. Alsa also has a stop in this location, bathed by the River Lérez, on the route from Portugal through Galicia.
