This is the gateway to Galicia, on the natural border with Asturias and the estuary from which it takes its name. Ribadeo (around 10,000 inhabitants) is a popular tourist town in the region of eastern A Mariña and an enclave of great historical importance.
This town also boasts a unique ecosystem situated at the mouth of the river Eo; a coastal area declared as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
If you are traveling on the Camino de Santiago or are planning to do so soon, you should know that the distance separating Ribadeo from Santiago de Compostela is 195 kilometers.
