Arguably, for its history and its documented hospitality, Leon is considered to be the most Jacobean capital on the French Way.
Established in the year 68 with the confluence of two rivers, it hosts the Regio VIIth Gemina and, with the passing of the centuries it became the main military and political centre of the northwest peninsula and the capital of the first kingdom of Leon.
