The town centre is well equipped with bars and cafes where visitors can have breakfast from early in the day. The majority of establishments can be found on the ground floor of the verandas that surround the square O Campo, the heart of the centre.
Here pilgrims can try the famous tortilla of Betanzos, cabbage from Betanzos, local wines, octopus and Callos (a chickpea, pork and chorizo stew). For a drink in the evening, there are a number of bars and pubs situated on Calle Rosalía Castro.
