A Coruna offers visitors an infinite number of activities to enjoy the city, something for all tastes and pockets. A stroll through Maria Pita Square is a must; here walkers will find a statue in honour of the Heroine of Coruña and the majestic town hall. Pilgrims can also get lost in the Ciudad Vieja (The old city), visit the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria and the garden of San Carlos, where the general Sir John Moore is buried. The tower of Hercules is the oldest working lighthouse in the world. It was declared a world Heritage monument in 2009. It was constructed in the first century and a rehabilitation of its exterior took place in XVIII.
