One of the things that most impresses everyone who goes into the adventure of making the Camino de Santiago, are the imposing landscapes. The Camino de Santiago, allows pilgrims to enjoy streets that cross them with different historical buildings, to trails through nature, where one can disconnect and enjoy everything that this brings to a person.

The beauty of the landscapes offered by the different routes of the Camino de Santiago cannot be denied. And, for that reason, on many points viewpoints were created so that everyone can enjoy unique panoramas that are only found in these parts of the world.

In some of the locations of the different routes that lead to the Cathedral of Santiago, one can enjoy some of these viewpoints. Some are on the road itself while others very close to it, and you just have to deviate a few minutes from the Camino de Santiago to enjoy them. Similarly, they all show us landscapes that surprise anyone.

On the Mount Artxanda, in Bilbao, is the viewpoint of the same name. This viewpoint is one of the best known points in Bilbao and from there you can see the entire city. From the viewpoint of Artxanda, you can see the estuary of the city and the mountain range that covers the city. Once in Bilbao, during the Camino del Norte, you can enjoy a totally unique view of the city.

The Costa Quebrada is one of the most popular points of Cantabria for its geological importance. From this coastal area of ​​Cantabria, we can observe different cliffs that surround coves and beaches in the area, and which together create a most impressive landscape. This set of images of nature begins on the beach of La Magdalena and ends in the town of Cuchía.

On the coast of Ruiloba, within the province of Cantabria, is the viewpoint of the Corneja. This viewpoint that can be accessed by pilgrims who are making the Camino del Norte, offers a panoramic view of the border of the land with the Cantabrian Sea. It is a perfect place to have a picnic and enjoy the high cliffs of the place.

ASTURIAS

The hermitage of La Regalina, located in the town of Cadavedo, is one of the most beautiful places in Asturias. At this point we can see this beautiful hermitage of blue and white colors, next to a classic granary, in addition to an impressive landscape of the cliffs and beaches that surround it, such as the Ribeirona beach. A point of interest to consider for the pilgrims of the Camino de la Costa.

The town of Llanes is the end of one stage and the beginning of another within the Camino del Norte. In it the pilgrims can rest and go sightseeing in its streets and places of interest, as is the viewpoint of La Boriza. The landscape that offers the top of this viewpoint is very extensive and quite impressive. From the viewpoint of La Boriza you can see the Ballota beach next to the Sierra del Cuera and the Islote del Castro.

GALICIA

To visit the viewpoint of O Ézaro you have to deviate a couple of kilometers within the Camino de Santiago a Finisterre y Muxía, but it is really worth it. The viewpoint of O Ézaro is located in Dumbría and from it you can observe the final stage of the Xallas River until you reach the Atlantic Ocean, the Lobeiras Islands and Cape Fisterra in the distance. In addition to the viewpoint, in that same area you can see the mouth of the Xallas River, also known as the waterfall of O Ézaro that has a 40-meter waterfall and that can be observed at any time of the year.

In the town of Ferrol, the first point that every pilgrim who is going to make the Camino Inglés must cross, is the Chamorro hermitage. This hermitage is located at the top of Mount Chamorro and can be reached after traveling a slope of approximately 1 kilometer away. From its location, you can get an impressive panoramic view of Ferrol and its estuary. On Easter Monday, hundreds of people visit it since that is when its pilgrimage is celebrated and the procession is carried out with the image of the Virgin of Chamorro.

On the summit of Mount Ancos with a height of 262 meters is the most popular viewpoint of the municipality of Neda. From this viewpoint you can see the Ría de Ferrol from its birth with the mouth of the Rio Grande, to its end. This panoramic, of interest for those who make the Camino Inglés, allows us to see part of the towns of Neda, Narón and Ferrol in the north, and the coast of the town of Valdoviño in the south.

If you take the Portuguese Way along the coast, you can stop at Santa Trega, located in the municipality of A Guarda. This point is located 341 meters high and at its highest point is its castro, an old town formed by oval houses, mostly. Although the castro is what attracts people to this place, the panorama it offers impresses everyone who visits it. From the top of Santa Trega, you can see the separation between Spain and Portugal thanks to the mouth of the Miño River, which acts as a natural border.

The Cotorredondo viewpoint is 550 meters above sea level. From the top of this viewpoint you can see both the Vigo estuary and the beautiful San Simón Island. On clear days, pilgrims who are doing the Camino Portugués can even see the estuaries of Pontevedra and Arousa.

O Cebreiro is a village located in the town of Pedrafita do Cebreiro and that represents the entrance to the Galician community within the Camino Francés. In this village you can enjoy at the top of its viewpoint, a unique view of the Leon lands that the pilgrims have overcome in the previous stage.
